Sited on the edge of an existing pond, with long south-facing glass, the RCE offers broad views of the campus green.  An appropriately sized overhang provides seasonal shading - allowing winter heat gains, while shielding direct summer rays.  Other sustainable measures include masonry Trombe walls, automated building controls, and a dual-pond storm water management system.

The RCE includes the Health Sciences Center, Library, classrooms, cyber café and lounges.
